On 1 September 2023, New York Times reported that according to the people familiar with the matter, Meta is considering to outline a subscription plan for paid no-ads versions of Facebook and Instagram. This action is a response to the recent EU court decisions and regulations, restricting Meta’s user’s data collection. The company has not had any comment or confirmation yet.
